Feeling and Moving

Snails have tiny feelers called tentacles that help them touch and sense what’s around them, like finding food or noticing danger. They also have a special part called the “foot” that isn’t just for moving around; it helps them feel vibrations from the ground to know if something is near.

Eating Adventures

Snails have a cool tool called a radula in their mouths, kind of like a tiny toothy conveyor belt, that helps them grab and eat their food. Inside their bodies, they have a special part that works like our stomach and liver combined, helping them digest their food and get all the nutrients they need.

Breathing and Blood Flow

Snails breathe through a small hole that leads to their lung, which is just right for their slow pace of life. They have a simple way of circulating blood through their body, which means their blood flows around freely and gets pushed back to their heart by their muscles.

Making Baby Snails

Snails are super interesting because they can be both boy and girl at the same time, which makes it easier for them to find a partner to make baby snails. This special ability helps them make sure there are always enough snails to take care of the garden by eating up algae and breaking down leaves and other dead stuff.
